Subject: This is NOT a SBD
I was at this great show, and the source of this tape was a fellow named Gus Gross from Arkansas. Gus was the guy who quipped in one of the NYE broadcasts in a Q&A skit "Who are these guys and why do they keep following me around?" Anyway, Gus is no longer with us, but he deserves the credit for making this tape --- one of the damn finest AUDIENCE recordings you will ever hear. You can clearly hear the crowd enough to tell it's not a SBD. It's BETTER than a SBD!! So let's get the No Download restriction off of this one so people can enjoy this great audience recording of a smoking, end of the tour show!

My first show was not until '82 but this was always one of my favorite tapes. I love Roy Buchanan, saw him in the DC area. he lived near me in Virginia, great, great guitar player. As for this show all I have to say is get it.

Subject: WOW!!!
This show was a great time. A very colorful day indeed. My first G D show out doors. This sound board stream brings me right back to the front row. Levon Helm and the Cate brothers played that day too, as well as Roy Buchanan!! It was just a great show.. Sounds incredible. Sugaree rips! Thanks Internet Archive!

This still remains one of the most incredible days of my musical life. Gorgeous fall day, lots of happy people, Levon and the absolutely best Grateful Dead show I've seen (and I've seen some great ones). The Sugaree alone is worth the price of admisson but thats just the starter course. Almost every song is played at its best. And the crowning jewel in galaxy of jewels;Playing>Uncle John's>Drums>Space NFA (no annoying clapping here)>The Wheel back>UncleJohn's Back>Playing>Sugar Mag. You have to listen (at volume)because there's no way to describe it. If you don't already, YOU MUST OWN THIS SHOW. The quality isn't perfect but its a darn sight better than any tape I've ever owned. Besides a little crowd noise is good for the soul. If you're new at this start here, it will turn you on to what all the hubbub is bub.
